Here at Lutherville, we use the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? to create a positive learning environment. This story presents the idea that each of us has a bucket inside that represents our emotional well being. When we are kind to others, we fill their buckets. When others treat us with kindness, they fill our buckets as well.
We have all been challenged to be bucket-fillers by showing respect or doing something kind for those around us.
What better way to fill a bucket, than by sharing a comment on our blog? Think about ways that others have filled your bucket:
- Has someone been kind to you by helping you during group work in class?
- What about someone who cheered you up when you were feeling sad?
- How has a student, staff, or family member helped you solve a problem?
Remember that we only share first names on our blog. If your comment does not show up right away, it just means that Mrs. Austen has not had a chance to approve it. Be sure to check back in 24 hours.
Parents and family member, feel free to comment on ways that your child is filling buckets at home. We can’t wait to hear from students, teachers, staff, and family members!
