Students in Mrs. Schattall’s class visited our Monarch Meadow to learn more about the milkweed that our monarch caterpillars are eating.
Our meadow will be 5 years old this spring, and serves as a natural habitat for butterflies and other animals. As the name suggests, one of the most important plants in our meadow is the milkweed plant – the only plant that monarch caterpillars eat.
Other classes who have visited the meadow this month are Mrs. Jenkin’s class, Mrs. Feltman’s class, Mrs. Miller’s class, Ms. Mullan’s class, Mrs. Myers’ class, Mr. Paul’s class, and Mrs. Scott’s class.
Boys and girls, can you comment to tell us something that you learned about milkweed or a question that you still have about our meadow?
