Congratulations to Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Schmaus, and Mrs. Smith’s classes for earning the Green Duck award last week. These classes are working hard to recycled properly in the classroom and the Environmental Club has noticed their hard work. Bravo!
This week, the following classes have earned a Green Duck Award; drum roll, please…
Pre-K and K – Mrs. McGee’s class
Grade 1 – Mrs. Jenkins’, Mrs. Myers’, and Mrs. Schmaus’ classes
Grade 2 – Miss Mullan’s, Mrs. Schattall’s, and Mrs. Scott’s classes
Grade 4 – Mr. Paul’s and Mrs. Zagurski’s classes
Grade 5 – Mrs. Nicholson’s and Mrs. Voelker’s classes
Wow – the number of classes earning Green Duck Awards almost quadrupled this week! Even if your class did not receive an award, we have noticed more recycling happening around the school. Today, the custodians had to empty the hallway recycling bin during the day because there were so many items in it. What a terrific improvement!
Some of the classroom doors were locked, We apologize if we could not visit your room. We will try again next week. Congratulations to everyone!

The green duck award is very creative because our school is a green school and very healthy.

Getting the The Green Duck Award is a cool way to learn about recycling. I am very happy to get the award.

I am so happy that our class got a green duck, everyone tried hard to throw away trash and recycle what is supposed to be recycled. Good job to all of the classes who got a green duck!

My group was checking 3rd grade classrooms we saw that Mrs. Baker’s and Mrs.Feltman’s class was so close to earning a duck.
In Mrs.Feltman’s class there was 1 sticky note in the trash can which SHOULD be in the recycling bin! They were so close!
In Mrs.Baker’s class there was 1 cardboard crayon box in the trash which SHOULD be in the recycling bin ! They were also so close!
In Mrs.Smith’s class there were a lot of paper in the trash can!! Students, you should try to recycle the paper.
I hope 3rd grade will get a green duck next time!!
